Overview: Embark on a captivating artistic journey as we explore the mesmerizing world of painting water and sailboats in acrylic. Over the course of five weeks, participants will learn essential techniques for capturing the dynamic movement, transparency, and luminosity of water, as well as the timeless elegance of sailboats gliding across the waves. From mastering the play of light on water surfaces to creating realistic underwater landscapes, each session will offer hands-on instruction, demonstrations, and personalized guidance from the instructor. Whether you’re a novice or seasoned painter, “Sea & Sail” promises to inspire creativity, foster camaraderie, and provide a fun and enriching experience for all participants.

Course Breakdown:

  1. Setting Sail: Introduction to acrylic painting techniques; sketching sailboat composition; beginning seascape background.
  2. Waves and Reflections: Painting realistic waves and reflections; understanding light and shadow on water surfaces.
  3. Underwater Worlds: Exploring transparent water effects; painting underwater landscapes and marine life.
  4. Detailing the Boat: Refining sailboat details; adding texture and depth to the boat’s structure.
  5. Bringing it All Together: Finalizing the seascape painting; reviewing techniques; celebrating individual artworks
